“This day I have perfected your religion for you and completed My favour upon you and have chosen Islam as your religion.”
(Qur’an 5:4)
How to Accept Islam
All praise be to Allah, many people have accepted Islam at IB over the years. Many chose to take part in a public shahadah (testimony of faith) ceremony, however it can also be done privately for those wishing to do so.
Becoming a Muslim is a simple and easy process. All that a person has to do is to say the shahada, which is pronounced as:
“Laa ilaaha illa Allah, Muhammad ar rasool lullah.”
These Arabic words mean:
“There is no one worthy of worship accept Allah, and Muhammad is the Messenger (Prophet) of Allah.”
Once a person says the shahadah with conviction and understanding its meaning, then he/she has become a Muslim!
We provide a translation of the Qur’an in English and other useful start up materials for every new Muslim taking the shahadah at the centre.
We also hold regular special classes for new Muslim brothers and sisters to help them learn more about Islam. Please see the home page calendar for current classes.
New Muslim Certificate
New Muslim certification is often required when applying for an Umrah or Hajj Visa. It may also be required by some Islamic centres when solemnising marriages.
A certificate is available by attending the centre by prior arrangement. All that is need is your full name as you wish it to appear on the certificate and also the date on which you accepted Islam. Unfortunately we are unable to post out certificates but a PDF printable version can be emailed to you upon request.
