On Saturday 31st January Sheikh Abdullah Hodgson delivered an inspirational talk on his journey to Islam. Born completely blind Sheikh Hodgson recollected the emotional journey from a Christian Protestant upbringing to Islam. The evening started with the heart-warming recitation of the Holy Qur’an and nasheeds by young students accompanying the Sheikh also born completely blind.
The evening provided a reminder of the blessings we take for granted and also the opportunity to meet such inspirational role models. Those that attended generously donated towards a total of £2610.56 for the Baseera education institute, which has been specifically setup for Muslims with disabilities and special needs.
